In Red Panda Expeditions we believe that the staff is the key to successful treks and hikes. Therefore we use only well trained guides. The guides are there to keep you safe and make your journey smooth so that you can have an unforgettable experience in the Himalayan mountains.
We go through great efforts to have a supurb staff!
Our Lead Guides have been trained and certified in their respective roles.
Our Assistant Guides are currently in professional training and are a support to our Lead Guides.
Our Junior Guides are being trained by our Lead Guides and Assistant Guides with hopes that they will one day train their own Junior Guides as Lead/Assistant Guides.
We only use guides that we know and trust and that have been through our RedPanda in-house training.

Our Guides
Phorpoo Lhomi
Phorpoo is the founder of the Red Panda Expeditions. He is the soul of the company with his shining and optimistic attitude. With his professionalism and experience he makes sure that all the Red Panda treks and expeditions are of top quality. Phurpoo has been working in the trekking industry since 2002. He grew up in a small village near Makalu base camp. He began as a porter and then worked his way up to junior and then senior guide and now owns his own trekking company. He is always helping others in his free time. He is certified through the Government of Nepal as a trekking guide. Areas of expertise:
Chhering Sherpa
Chhering grew up in Helambu but in his teens moved to India to find work. While in India he wanted to return to his people and help them. So in 2017 he returned to the area to help the people of the Helambu valley. Being from the Hyolmo people, he is excellently suited to lead the cultural treks in Helambu valley.

Samuel Lhomi
Samuel is from the Makalu area. At age 9 he moved to Kathmandu. He started guiding after he realized that “Trekking refreshes people and builds character”. He started working for Red Panda in 2017. He is a religion and cultural expert and adds a lot of knowledge to the trek. “I like the adventure of trekking and seeing new cultures and places”.
Samuel is certified through the Nepal government as a trekking guide.
